Milena Moreschi
Public Prosecutor in Bahia, Brazil
I had the opportunity to take part in the first cohort to implement Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) at the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Bahia, in a mentoring journey led by Professor Marcos Barros from Oxford Business Masters. Marcos translates concepts with academic precision and a deep sensitivity to the realities of institutions, bridging the gap between strategy and impact.
More than a performance improvement tool, the greatest value I experienced is how it invites each member of an institution to recognise the true purpose behind what we do every day and how it affects the lives of those we serve. The consistent practice of defining meaningful objectives and key results transforms conversations, prioritises efforts, and creates alignment around public purpose. By following the author’s guidance, we learned to measure what truly matters and to take responsibility for the results we actually deliver.
Another remarkable outcome was the increase in team engagement, especially visible during the cycle-closing rituals, which became moments of celebration, learning, and unity across teams and the institution, with results shared and celebrated by everyone. For all these reasons, I enthusiastically and gratefully recommend their services to public managers and leaders who wish to generate real value for society. It is a work that inspires and teaches with simplicity, discipline, and an unwavering focus on the citizen.
